Our present educational center has resulted from the 1997 unification of two famous schools in Arad-The Industrial Scholastic Group of Water Administration ( founded in 1964) and The Industrial Scholastic Group of Construction-Assembly (founded in 1974) -bearing the name of The Industrial Scholastic Group of Construction, Waters and Environmental Protection.
Each of the two involved partners has contributed to the harmonious making of this fusion, not only on an institutional level, but also on a human level. In 1998 our school enriched itself with two more classes and teachers from Tudor Vladimirescu Industrial Scholastic Group.
Thus, a new educational centre with a high self-assertive potential appeared at the instructive horizon of our town having as its strongest points an activity conducted within a functional headquarters, suitable for the activities implied by the educational-instructive process.
The evolution and the development of our school were materialized in its gained right to function as a \ representative centre \; in October 2000 due to its positive response to the indicators of the standard evaluation criteria, our centre became The Technical College of Construction and Environmental Protection -Arad.
The favored domains for student instruction in our school- the protection of the environment and public work-constructions-are in full agreement with the local, regional and even national development strategy ( taking into account the fact that a positive dealing with the problems of the environmental protection is one of our countrys conditions for the E.U. integration ).
Our school offers good training at different levels: vocational schools,
post-secondary schools, foremen training and highschool, ensuring, as well continuous adult training (professional conversion and reconversion in the construction field and environment protection field) .We ensure access to all students to the training process of our institution, with a special care for the integration of the socially-disfavored ones and those with health-problems.
The students of this school benefit from 38 classrooms,12 laboratories, 12 workshops and 8 offices, a gym and a sports field. Having as a main goal the training for a good use of the informational and communicational technology, 27 hi-fi computers, 6 printers, a ploter, a scanner, a copy-machine, a CD writer, projectors, audio-visual systems, Internet connectors are at students disposal. Our school s financial resources mainly due to the PHARE VET 9405 Program and T.H. Dusseldorf Foundation in addition to our own founds, satisfy at present the necessities of a qualitative education, the laboratories being endowed properly for each specialty.
The teaching staff is formed by general subjects teachers, engineers and instructive-foremen, namely a 71 didactic personnel, out of which 53 masters. It is a competitive staff who combines experience with innovation, 15 of our teachers being syllabus authors and authors of curricular auxiliaries and four of them are trainers for trainers.
Promoting an active management and an efficient use and development of the resources, partnerships at all levels we succeed in " shaping " good workers and professionally competitive specialists, with positive values and attitudes as well as professional insertion of our graduates.
Besides the fact that we are not only supported, but also actively involved in our community s life on a local and regional level, a huge step in our schools evolution is due to the international partnership with schools and institutions from 6 E.U. members established through " Leonardo da Vinci " and "Comenius " projects.(Finland, Grece, France, Italy, Spain, Wales and Lithuania)
Thus, our schools wish is to contribute to the European integration process of the Romanian society, by offering a qualitative instructive- educational process, equal chances for all its students without any discrimination, in a school with a high spiritual and moral atmosphere in collaboration with our social partners.
